Supplements
Many people are now regularly taking supplements as part of their daily routine. There are many different types available depending upon the reason and result desired. Some are for athletes, in the form of energy drinks or flavoured powders to add to food or drinks in order to help bolster the body when under the stress of practice or competition. The most common supplement taken widely is the multivitamin tablet which adds to a normal daily diet to ensure a balance of all vitamins necessary to function.
Other supplements are available in tablet, powder and liquid form and all are taken for different reasons and once a person is used to taking them on a regular basis, it becomes a habit which requires little thought. Some are available by prescription from a family doctor, but, in the majority of circumstances, they are paid for by the individual. Many are taken as natural remedies for a minor problem and it is always worth considering as an alternative to medical intervention after, obviously, taking advice from the family doctor. There is some opinion that some supplements are best taken at different stages of life, as with young children, pregnant women and the elderly.
